President Mahmoud Admadinejad's speech was not well received by the western world's delegates. In fact when Admadinejad addressed 9-11 and the alternative theories held by many, the western delegates walked out. This may not seem like a very noteworthy response, in fact it was quite predictable. My point however is that it is important and quite disgraceful.
Understand, this is not a random, highly educated nimrod speaking in a church gymnasium. This is the President of one of the most powerful countries in the world, speaking to the world's delegates at the U.N. in New York. The communications occurring in this forum represent power and influence on our planet at a level us laymen don't really understand. [Note: I am writing from an assumed perspective, not necessarily my own, in order to achieve greater topic focus.] As such, to simply disregard without any consideration of content, a world Leader's address is simply ignorant. A nation's President, no matter how opposed to or offended by their opinions you may be, is worthy of your ear. Have you ever run for President? Probably not, but let me tell you, it is no small matter. It takes a little more effort than your 3-month science project in 9th grade. Now, to run and win, that is all but impossible. Earning a PhD in Sub-Atomic Physics is easier than becoming President of a major country. So, even if you think he's an imbecile, give the man your attention.
To walk out during a Leader's address is simple pageantry; adolescent dramatization. I hate it when we parade our ignorance on the world stage. It is embarrassing and shameful. Only those that are guilty and trying to hide something react to what ultimately are nothing more than words coming from a human being's mouth, with such flair. To label a topic or opinion as "Taboo" is a tool of people trying to hide something, not the offended.
Well I'm tired and want to wrap this up. May god bless President Mahmoud Admadinejad. Fuck the Overlords.
